JJ Clears Waivers gets Spring Training Invite

JJ cleared waivers and has been given a Spring Training Invite. If he does well he has the chance to make the 25-man roster out of spring training. If he does not make the 25-man roster then he will go to AAA Indianapolis.

JJ Designated for Assignment by Pirates

With the signing of Burnitz, the Pirates today designated JJ for assignment. What this means is that any team has 72 hours to claim him off waivers and place him on there 40 man roster. It probably will not be until Tuesday that he learns his faith. A team could claim him tomorrow or wait until Tuesday. If no team claims him then he goes back to the Pirates and gets assigned to AAA. Hope for the best.
